Drum Therapy and the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW present a community drum circle for all

Drum Therapy and the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW present a community drum circle for all

You are invited to our adults of all ages, all abilities, community drum and percussion circle hosted in conjunction with The Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW.  This event takes place on the THIRD Wednesday of the month at the Pioneer Clubhouse, Quirk Road, Balgowlah.  We start at 7.30pm and finish at 9pm.  Arrive a little earlier to find a seat and borrow a drum or some percussion if you would like to (first come first served!).  Entry is by donation to the Clubhouse.

This is a community event to which all are welcome.   A special welcome is extended to those living with mental illness or neurological condition, those with PTSD and to survivors of cancer or trauma, all carers and family members and anyone who wants to experience the joy, fun and stress release of a community drum circle.  No musical experience is necessary.

This is a facilitated drum circle which means that Drum Therapy will gently guide the circle with ideas, fun games and different activities to maximise enjoyment.  It is not a drum class and there are no parts to learn.  Anyone can enjoy playing drums and percussion and be part of a communal achievement making music.  It is very interactive and each circle will be different. No musical experience is necessary.  Everyone has rhythm – it is part of your brain – so come along to the community circle and tune into yours.
